There are kids who are able to learn only when provided with certain supports and accommodations. Such kids tend to have additional learning needs and therefore need more than just a teacher. Bloom Garden International School was created for that reason and intent. Multidisciplinary interventions are offered to ensure that all students thrive. The philosophy of Bloom Garden International School is Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.
To empower each student by providing specialized instructions, allowing for individual differences and developing independence
To prepare each student for maximum independence in learning and living.
The English National curriculum is offered to students at school. The foundation stage program develops key learning habits such as listening, speaking, concentration, persistence and team work.
This stage comprises of year 1 to year 5. This level further develops independent learning skills, knowledge, and understanding gained in the Foundation Stage.
These are grades 6, 7 and 8 where students gain insight of subjects that they desire to study at IGCSE and above which eventually determine their career path.
Examinations take place every Mid-Term and End of Term. A monitoring report is issued and sent to parents after mid-term exams. A comprehensive final report and evaluation is also sent to parents at the end of each term.
At BGIS, great significance is placed on the quality of the intervention team. Every class has a trained graduate SEN teacher, assisted by either a graduate or diploma-level SEN teacher.
In our globalized economies, technology plays an important part in education. We emphasis the importance of IT by embedding it cross the curriculum, so that our students master the skill of using IT as a tool to enhance their understanding of all knowledge. We have equipped our classes with smart boards to enhance teaching and students' interaction. The school has a computer laboratory where students master the basic skills of operating systems, and prepare themselves for the use of multi-media, graphics web-design and computing through the use of several applications.
Music is part and parcel of the BGIS curriculum. Students Are taught to play instruments such as piano, guitar and drums. Music lessons help children develop valuable creative thinking skills. By learning how to play an instrument, children learn how to make decisions and problem solve. Learning to play an instrument takes practice and dedication, and these skills can help them in other areas of their life. Third, music lessons can help children build self-confidenc.
Bloom Graden International school has a very vibrant Art program. The school uses arts integration to create well-rounded and well-prepared learners. Art helps learners to develop creative problem-solving skills. It can present difficult concepts visually, making them easier to understand. Additionally, art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness. Visual arts teach learners about color, layout, perspective, and balance: all techniques that are necessary in presentations (visual, digital) of academic work.
Sports is a major part of the BGIS curriculum because if students stay emotionally and physically healthy, they can easily focus on their studies. Students participate in school sports to increase confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem. BGAA offers sports activities such as roller skating, soccer, basketball and swimming.
